Make A Difference Day is celebrated the fourth Saturday each October and has become the nation's single largest day of volunteering.

Here in the Wausau area, Make A Difference Day has been synonymous with a large-scale "Rake-a-thon" to help individuals who are elderly or disabled remain living independently in their homes for as long as possible.

This Rake-A-Thon event fills a very real community need in Marathon County. In fact, it is the only option for many residents to get their yards prepared for winter.
