Who We Are
"Making the World a Better Place, one can at a time" Peyton?s Promise began in 2007, when I was eight years old. My family and I watched a television show and I learned children in our area go to bed hungry. It really touched my heart, and it motivated me to help kids and families in the Weston, WI area. I feel that so many of us have enough and sometimes too much. World Hunger CAN be solved. If everyone with enough can give a little, we can solve this problem. My parents encouraged me to go out and fix the problem, and that is when I contacted my school principal to have a school food drive. Each year we add new schools, programs, businesses and events. I feel if we don?t keep growing, people will forget, and the problem will not be solvable. One person cannot fix world hunger by him or herself; it takes all of us working together to solve problems to make the world a better place.
What We Do
Our Advocate Program was developed during the 2010-2011 school year and allows students 4th through 12th grade to apply to become an Peyton?s Promise Advocate in their school. We currently have over 100 advocates working throughout WI and IL! These advocates attended a day of training which empowers them to run food drives and educate students in their schools about the problem of hunger and inspire them to Make the World a Better Place.
