Stable Hands mission is to enhance the quality of life for special needs individuals through the use of equine-assisted activities and therapies.  We seek to improve each persons' physical, emotional and cognitive development with caring, compassion and a plan to make a difference. Stable Hands, Inc. is a Wisconsin non- profit, tax exempt corporation that offers equine therapies and activities to individuals with special needs. We have been in operation in the Wausau area since 1992. Stable Hands provides encouragement and support to help with self-confidence, independence and a way to exercise the spirit as well as the body. Volunteers are essential to assist riders as side-walkers and to lead the horses. Other positions are also available. Training and a volunteer manual are provided.
