Workplace Volunteer Council

The Workplace Volunteer Council strives to enhance the quality of life in Marathon County by promoting volunteerism to address issues of community concern. The council anticipates and responds to the changing needs of Marathon County.

The Workplace Volunteer Council (WVC) is a partner project of the United Way of Marathon County with the Council directing its own projects. United Way serves as the non-profit fiscal agent to the Workplace Volunteer Council. The WVC has three primary projects: 1. Fill A Backpack Fill A Need - Provides backpacks filled with new, grade appropriate school supplies to income eligible children in Marathon County in the fall. 2. Bare Necessities - An on-going project that collects and distributes socks and underwear to Marathon County agencies who serve families in need. 3. Back to Basics - An on-going project that collects and distributes personal care items to Marathon County agencies who serve clients in need.
