Who We Are
The Mission of North Central Community Action Program is to act as an advocate, provider, and facilitator of programs and services for low-income households in Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties. North Central Community Action Program seeks to create opportunities for people and communities to obtain skills, identify and utilize resources, and explore innovative options necessary to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency.
What We Do
North Central Community Action Program provides programs and services to address the needs of low-income people. Programs include:
Weatherization, rent assistance, life skills, and the AmeriCorps Program.
Our weatherization program is an additional benefit available to a small number of households each year, who receive Energy Assistance. The program was put in place to reduce energy usage and lower heating costs. Each home is evaluated for air leakage, insulation, and energy efficiency. Based on findings; air sealing, insulating, and repair or replacement of mechanicals such as water heaters, furnaces and ventilation fans may be able to addressed.
The AmeriCorps mission is to enhance the educational opportunities and positive interactions of potentially at-risk children, youth and their families through the direct service of AmeriCorps members. This program is a collaboration of schools and local non-profit organizations.
