Make a difference by volunteering in the Aspirus Heart Institute waiting room!

Help update families on patient status, assist with projects, and guide family members to conference rooms to meet with doctor.

Your support will provide comfort and help during critical family moments.

Weekly or occasional openings: Mondays-Fridays, Noon-4pm; Tuesday or Friday mornings.

Play a vital role in enhancing the emotional well-being of our patients by offering them companionship, conversation, and support. Assist with non-clinical requests like playing games/cards, helping with puzzles, reading to them, tidying their room, making phone calls, etc. Training provided.

Per your availability. Any day, flexible 8am-7pm.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is looking for compassionate individuals to help brighten the day of patients and guests.

Patient Support Volunteers play a vital role by delivering flowers, mail, and donated comfort items to patients and guests. They also assist patients and visitors with wayfinding and support hospital departments with mailings and special projects.

This is one of the many ways you can contribute to the community while creating a positive experience for those in need.

Shifts available are: Wednesday afternoons, or anytime on Fridays.

Greet and assist visitors in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU). Assist visitors locating patient rooms, rest room or cafeteria. Answer telephone and help with small clerical tasks as requested.

HIGH NEED

Help your elderly and special needs community neighbors remain in their homes by installing Lifeline equipment in subscriber residence. Volunteers go into the homes throughout Marathon County to install and show the subscriber how to use their personal help button and Lifeline unit. They also provide replacement batteries for personal help buttons and units in subscriber homes, as well as general troubleshooting. Must possess a valid WI drivers license. Training provided.

Join the Aspirus Volunteer team and help keep things running smoothly during the busy lunch time at the hospital cafeteria. Volunteers play a vital role in helping keep the salad bar and soup bar stocked and ready to serve. Additionally, restocking silverware, condiments, and napkins, and wiping down tables are also key to a pleasant dining experience. We'd love to welcome you to our team!

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Aspirus is seeking compassionate and friendly volunteers to join our team as EZ Rider drivers.

As an EZ Rider driver, you'll operate a golf cart-style vehicle specially designed to help our patients and visitors navigate the hospital. Your role will be to provide transport assistance within the hospital, ensuring patients and guests reach their destination safely and comfortably. Whether it's assisting someone who needs a little extra help or simply brightening their day, you'll make a big difference in their experience.

HIGH NEED

Volunteer in the Day Surgery waiting room. Help convey patient status to waiting family members. Act as liaison between doctors, staff members, and those waiting. Keep track of family member(s) and locate them when needed. Escort family members to conference rooms or education room to meet with doctor or view video. Assist staff with clerical projects as requested. 

Weekly - Mondays or Fridays, Noon-4pm; or Thursdays 8-11am

The Rehab Unit provides specialized medical care that focuses on providing care that supports and fosters patients regaining independence.

You can greatly enhance the lives of these patients by visiting them when they don't have family there, reading to them, playing cards, etc.

You may also assist with tidying up, checking supply stocks, office work as requested, etc.

Help your elderly and special needs community neighbors remain in their homes.

Volunteers go into the homes of the elderly and disabled throughout Marathon County to change out batteries and personal help buttons for Lifeline subscribers. Must have a valid drivers license. Training provided.

Provide an adjunct therapy activity for patients who would like additional social or emotional stimulation. Visit with patients, guests, and staff. Pets must be certified through an American Kennel Club accrediting agency.

Greet visitors and families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). General duties including filing, tidying family kitchen area, stock/clean refrigerator as needed, decorate baby signs, fold baby items, etc.

You can greatly help our patients by making handmade items. We continue to need *Pocket Prayer Shawls*, Prayer Shawls, Twiddle Muffs, and always stuffed animals (must be homemade or new with tags). Also, veteran-themed lap blankets for our hospice veterans. Patterns are available upon request.
