Volunteers will assist with the Kite Festival. Duties may include running a craft station, greeting visitors, assisting with parking, general cleaning throughout the event, among others.

Wausau Mobile Meals is seeking friendly volunteers to deliver meals to elderly and disabled residents—either one day a week as a regular driver or as a substitute driver to fill in as needed.

Are you looking to get out of the house and be active. Looking for a way to meet kind people yet not doing customer service? Do you like to organization and make things neat? Good News Project is looking for someone to help with office cleaning one day per week. Time is flexible and negotiable.  

Volunteer would vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, clean kitchen and bathrooms, dust office areas, clean and organize board room and volunteer area, and occasionally wash interior windows. Help the Good News Project team stay productive and focused on our mission.

Approximately 3-4 hours each week.

Looking to stay active while Being the Good for the environment? We have an ongoing need for volunteers to help with the Good News Project's e-CYCLING program. Volunteers are needed on Fridays between the hours of 9-4. Our scheduling is very flexible; you can choose to volunteer every Friday or once or twice a month, full days, half days, or just a couple of hours.  Volunteers are needed for customer service, to unload cars, weigh electronics, and sort them into the appropriate containers.  This volunteer position is great for those that want to stay connected to their community. Not sure if this is the right volunteer project for you? We recommend that new volunteers come in and take a tour. You can even schedule to do a trial shift with no commitment, to see if e-CYCLING is a good fit for you.

As we continue to do the work we have been called to do – serving our community and supporting our guests on their journey toward reintegration into the community- we ask for your continued support.   Your donation allows us to provide continued service to anyone in need who comes through our doors. We can grow our programming to allow us to offer more services and resources. We are expanding our facility to accommodate the increased number of people we serve.  We are asking for your continued support. No gift is too big or too small. Faith in Action delivers food pantry items from The Neighbors Place to Marathon County seniors who cannot easily leave their homes. Each Care-receiver receives two bags of groceries. Deliveries are made twice a month on Wednesday mornings. 

We are looking for substitute drivers to fill in when a regular Volunteer is out sick or on vacation. Routes typically take about an hour and a half. Each route consists of 4-8 deliveries and is grouped by location in Wausau, Rothschild, Schofield, or Weston. The Volunteer must be available to pick up the food pantry items at The Neighbors Place between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. The bags will be packed and ready to go. Permanent routes may be available in the future.

At The Good Shepherd Shelter, we are committed to offering a safe, supportive environment for those in need, but we can't do it alone. Right now, we're in need of breakfast essentials to start each day off right, including: Cereal, Milk, Granola Bars, Fruit Cups, Oatmeal, Coffee, Sugar & Creamer, Juice. In addition, we’re seeking backup meals intakes such as: Spaghetti Sauce & Noodles Frozen Casseroles Pre-packaged, Frozen Lasagna, Frozen Enchiladas, Frozen Meat or Veggie Chili, Frozen Pasta Bake (with layers of pasta, cheese, and sauce),Frozen Chicken Alfredo, Frozen Shepherd’s Pie, Frozen Stir-fry Kits (with pre-cooked rice and veggies),Frozen Sloppy Joes (with buns),These frozen meals will help us quickly serve large groups and ensure no one goes hungry. Your generous donations make all the difference in providing warmth and comfort to the families we serve.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteering at The Good Shepherd Shelter can take many forms, including donating food, preparing meals, serving meals, distributing bedding and clothing, helping guests read and understand our policies and procedures, and interacting with guests to help them feel welcome and included in our community.
