Position Summary: Habitat for Humanity of Wausau is seeking dedicated and responsible Donations Ambassador-Truck Drivers to assist with the transportation and handling of community donations. This position involves driving a 14x20’ box truck, safely loading and unloading donations, engaging with donors, and educating them on the mission of Habitat for Humanity. The ideal candidate will be a professional, safety-conscious individual who enjoys working as part of a team and has a passion for supporting the community.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Operate a 14-20’ box truck to pick up donations from various donor locations.

·  Safely navigate routes and ensure donations are securely loaded onto the truck.

·  Professionally engage with donors, explaining Habitat for Humanity of Wausau’s mission and how their contributions support our efforts to build affordable homes.

·  Answer questions from donors about Habitat’s programs and the donation process.

·  Unload donations at Habitat Wausau facility, ensuring all items are carefully handled and appropriately placed.

·  Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient pickup and delivery of donations.

·  Report directly to ReStore Management to ensure accurate tracking of donations and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements:

·  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

·  Ability to safely drive a 14-20’ box truck.

·  Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

·  Must be able to use stairs and complete physical tasks related to loading, unloading, and organizing donations.

·  Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

·  Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with donors in a professional and friendly manner.

·  Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other volunteers and staff.

·  Forklift experience welcomed but not required.

· Ability to utilize various carts & pallet jack when handling donations.


Availability: Donation Ambassador available shifts as follows:

Minimum time commitment of 4 hours per shift.

  • Tuesday: 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm
  • Wednesday: 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm
  • Thursday: 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm
  • Friday: 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm

 

Training and Support:

·   Comprehensive training will be provided by an experienced Donations Ambassador Assistant, covering truck operation, safety protocols, and donor interactions.

·   The Donations Ambassador Assistant will be available to provide training on Tuesday mornings, Thursday mornings, and Friday.

·   Ongoing support will be available to ensure success in the role.
