Summer slide refers to a drop off in literacy skills during the summer months while school is out of session.
United Way’s Ready to Read program is funding books for area 1st and 2nd grade students to accompany activities that encourage students to enjoy the outdoors, practice literacy, and engage their senses. Volunteers will put together a bag of summer fun that is sure to bring joy to young learners in our community!
Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
