Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services is looking to reach out to Military Veterans that would be interested in visiting with patients that are also Veterans. As a Veteran Volunteer serving a Veteran patient, you have many more advantages then an ordinary volunteer would have, you "get it", you are able to understand, listen, and share stories with these men and women that have served our Country. As a Veteran volunteer you would be providing a caring presence and emotional/social support to those Veteran patients We are looking to celebrate and honor your service as well has having you help us celebrate and honor the service of our patients. Every Veteran receiving Hospice care will receive a framed certificate of appreciation. Additional events through our "We Honor Veterans Program" can be available as well. Our volunteers serve patients and their families in the Greater Wausau area, along with stretching up to the Northwoods, and down to the Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids area; you have the ability to choose the area of need you wish to volunteer in. These visits can take place in the patient's home, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes
