Welcome to the 18th Annual Fill A Backpack Fill A Need Event!

This project allows the distribution of backpacks filled with new, grade-appropriate school supplies to eligible children in Marathon County.

Volunteers are needed August 15 to 20 at the National Guard Armory, 833 S. 17th Ave, Wausau. 

Distribution day is between 8am-2pm on August 20th.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 12 years old with adult supervision
• Must be 16 years old without adult supervision
• Able to stand, bend, lift 
• Able to tolerate high heat and humidity (the Armory is not air conditioned)
• Must wear closed toe shoes
• Do not bring purses or bags into Armory (please leave in locked car)
• Please refrain from using cellphones and electronics during volunteer time
