Who We Are
Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin:
The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) promotes choice and independence through personalized education, advocacy, and access to services that prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities in the lives of adults.
We work with older adults 60 and older, adults with disabilities 18 and older, youth with disabilities transitions to adulthood, and families, friends and caregivers.
We serve Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon and Wood Counties, with offices in Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids.
ADRC's are funded with federal, state, and county dollars, along with participants' contributions.
What We Do
The ADRC-CW works to provide peace of mind and quality of life to individuals and families through information and access to resources. Our services include:
Connecting older adults and adults with disabilities to community resources: You and your family have choices. Have an open dialogue to discover the options and resources available to you so you can plan your future. Staff will listen to your concerns and answer your questions, acting as a connection to information, programs and services for individuals with aging and disability needs.
Benefit for Seniors and Adults with Disabilities: Staff listen to and advocate for individuals in understanding benefits and programs, assist with paperwork and applications for benefits and programs, collaborate to problem solve and determine which benefits and programs are suited for the individual, empower individuals with the best possible options. Call for help in understanding and navigating through information for private and public benefits and programs.
Support for Caregivers: Caring for loved ones is rewarding. It can also be overwhelming. Call us and let us help you provide the best possible care for your loved one.
Meals for Seniors: Seniors have the opportunity to meet in the community for a hot meal and conversation. If getting out of the house is difficult, perhaps you would like a meal delivered. Call us to talk about what is best for you.
Classes for Fall Prevention: Have you had a fall or are you concerned about your balance? The ADRC-CW coordinates and provides Stepping On, a 7 week fall prevention program. Call us to learn more about how you can get involved.
Volunteering: Get involved today! Volunteers help to create a supportive and welcoming community for older adults and adults with disabilities. We could not achieve our mission without volunteers.
