Who We Are
By creating a World of Acceptance Special Olympics strives to inspire, strengthen families, make friends and promote fitness all while giving the athletes the courage to do what some think is impossible. No matter what the age or ability of our athletes they are all winners! Athletes experience joy as they train and compete in various sports. ?Let Me Win, But If I Cannot Win, Let Me Be Brave in the Attempt.?
What We Do
We are a small agency that is community-based serving athletes ranging from age 12-70 from Weston, Wausau, Schofield, Rothschild, Kronenwetter, and Mosinee, Wisconsin. Our agency is not affiliated with any particular school district. We offer the following sports to our athletes: bowling and track and field. Additional sports will be added if we have additional interested volunteers. We do more than just train athletes, we develop friendships and teach are older athletes that they can serve as a role model to the younger ones. We are always looking for new people to come in and join the fun. We have social gatherings like end of sports season parties and picnics. We need people to help with each sport we offer as either a volunteer or a coach. We are also looking for more athletes.
