What We Do

Hospice is a special kind of care for people in the final phase with a terminal illness. Enabling patients to be as alert and pain-free as possible, our hospice team uses their expertise to manage symptoms, allowing the individual to spend their remaining time with dignity and at peace. Dedicated to quality of life, our professional staff and specially-trained volunteers assist the patient and family in meeting their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death. We affirm life and regard dying as a normal process. Hospice volunteers are specially-trained individuals who volunteer their time to provide support and assistance to hospice patients and families. They are an integral part of the hospice team. Volunteers go through extensive training prior to their first assignment, and are provided with ongoing support. History: Hospice is a service, not a place. It is a model of care that is provided wherever a patient calls home, whether in their own private home, a nursing home, assisted living facility or other community-based residential setting. Our compassionate professionals come to the patient to provide special care and support.

Please consider joining our volunteer team to make a difference in the life of a hospice patient and their family.
