Who We Are
Ramp Up Marathon County works to help adults with mobility issues remain in their own homes by donating time to design, plan and build wheelchair ramps and raising money to cover the cost of materials. Eligibility for Ramp Up is lower income and Marathon County resident. Referrals, screenings, and application processing are handled through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin and Midstate Independent Living Choices. All other work is donated by skilled and highly dedicated volunteers. Funds are donated by local foundations, businesses, service clubs and individuals. Ramp Up Marathon County is a program of Midstate Independent Living Choices, Inc.

What We Do
Ramp Up Marathon County helps lower income Marathon County residents (adults) with mobility issues remain in their own home by donating volunteer time to design, plan and build wheelchair ramps or low rise long tread steps (best for those with walkers). Donations to cover the cost of materials come from local businesses, grants and fundraising. Ramp recipients have also donated to help cover the cost of materials for future ramps. Ramp Up Marathon County is completely volunteer driven. Applications for those that are eligible are taken on a first come first served basis. Ramps are built only during building season. For more urgent ramp needs, alternatives may need to be explored.
