Who We Are
The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) mission is to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, abuse, and errors through outreach, counseling, and education. The Wisconsin SMP program is housed at the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR). GWAAR is a nonprofit agency committed to supporting the successful delivery of aging programs and services throughout Wisconsin. SMP is pleased to be a part of this statewide organization.
What We Do
The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) mission is to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, abuse, and errors through outreach, counseling, and education. SMP is in every county in Wisconsin and our volunteers play a vital role in carrying out this mission across the state. Volunteer involvement ranges from staffing a booth at fairs and outreach events, to giving group presentations. By volunteering with SMP you can invest in your community, educating beneficiaries on how to prevent Medicare fraud.
