Who We Are

Mission

The mission of the Board on Aging and Long Term Care is to advocate for the interests of the state's long term care consumers, to inform those consumers of their rights, and to educate the public at large about health care systems and long term care.

What We Do

The Volunteer Ombudsman program is looking for compassionate volunteers to spend 1-2 hours a week at a local nursing home or assisted living facility visiting with the residents. Volunteer Ombudsmen act as advocates for the residents and assist residents with concerns.  Orientation and ongoing training are provided. This position is very flexible and can fit around any schedule. If you enjoy engaging with older adults, please call us today!
