The Salvation Army is looking for immediate COVID Assistants to help maintain a COVID positive homeless shelter for individuals and families. COVID positive individuals will be housed in the Community Center across from the Shelter.
Your safety is a top priority! Barriers are set up to avoid contact with COVID positive individuals. In an emergency the shelter staff will assist. Volunteers may snack, read, work on a personal project or watch TV if they choose.
Volunteers will ensure safety and bar unauthorized individuals from entering the building, assist in getting individuals clean linen, or other basic requests. Volunteers will ideally be partnered with another volunteer and need to be available from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am. You may volunteer with a spouse or a friend if desired.
All volunteers will be approved through The Salvation Army Safe From Harm application and trained prior to a commitment.
